The Monkey strives to bring new life to Main Street and renew the cultural beat to the area, by offering a variety of live musical performances, dance, comedy, and movies. The former Plymouth Theatre on Main Street in downtown Plymouth, New Hampshire stood defunct for years until The Common Man owner Alex Ray purchased it in 2009. The 1920's era theater was most recently a cinema until its re-opening in December as The Flying Monkey Movie House & Performance Center.

In mid-2010, The Monkey was again closed
for renovations. The new look was unveiled
in July, with a sold-out Legends of Rock N'
