DescriptionMasters of both extraordinary elegance and bird-flipping fury, Cherry Poppin’ Daddies are indeed the real deal. Ever impossible to pigeonhole, the Oregon-based big band pushes themselves to the outer limits of inspiration and invention, resulting in high octane swing-powered performances, built upon a twisted frame of horn-blowing, guitar-slinging rock ‘n’ roll. Perry once again affirms his standing as a songwriter, bandleader, and bomb thrower of the first order. As brave and articulate as they are boisterous and celebratory, Cherry Poppin' Daddies are the swinging sound of America’s dance band.
Best known of their mega hit "Zoot Suit Riot," The Daddies’ brand of high energy swing has the unique ability to bring generations together - where high school Psychobilly scenesters and their grandparents share the dance floor! CPD wed the energy of contemporary rock n roll with influences from the 1930s and 40s golden age of the American songbook. Fronted by founding member/songwriter (and molecular biologist!) Steve Perry, they have appeared on The Tonight Show, Letterman, Dick Clark's New Years Rockin’ Eve, The View and they were the sole musical act featured in a tribute to Duke Ellington on an AMC special.
“You can’t fake something that’s fine,” says Steve Perry, founder and frontman of the one and only Cherry Poppin’ Daddies.
