"The Hits, The Stories, The Experience" Tour

The harmonica wielding frontman of Blues Traveler, John Popper, returns to The Flying Monkey, this time solo accompanied by a piano player. Hailed by many as the world’s greatest harmonica player, John Popper has redefined the instrument. As the lead singer and principal songwriter of Blues Traveler, Popper has performed for more than 30 million people over 2,000 live dates and composed such radio staples as “Hook,” “But Anyway,” and “Run-Around,” the longest-charting single in Billboard history. He has appeared with Eric Clapton and B. B. King at the White House, welcomed the Hungarian ambassador to the stage, and inducted Carlos Santana into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

When Blues Traveler decided to take a break at the end of 2003 (to accommodate Chan Kinchla’s growing family), Popper wasn’t ready to sit around and so hooked up with bassist Rob Wasserman (of RatDog fame), playing a random show together in San Francisco. Turntablist DJ Logic happened to drop by for that set, and next thing anyone knew, Popper and Logic had formed the John Popper Project together in early 2004. The group, which also includes Blues Traveler bassist Tad Kinchla and Mosaic drummer Marcus Bleeker, went on to tour sporadically in between BT’s schedule, eventually releasing their first album together in October 2006.

The last two years of the 21st century’s first decade found Popper in demand as a session player, contributing to albums such as John Oates’ 1000 Miles of Life, ZO2’s Casino Logic, and Lisa Bouchelle’s Blue Room with a Red Vase. In 2010, Popper assembled another band called John Popper & the Duskray Troubadours. He described it as “a scrappy roots rock alter ego to Blues Traveler,” though they sound directly influenced by the music of the Band. Besides Popper, the group consists of guitarist/producer/keyboardist Jono Manson, bassist Steve Lindsay, drummer Mark Clark, and guitarists Kevin Trainor and Aaron Beavers. They issued their self-titled debut album on 429 Records in early 2011.

The Tour "The Hits, The Stories, The Experience" is a conglomerate of all John Popper's hits as the lead singer of Blues Traveler as well as his other work work with such notable groups as the Allman Brothers. Get ready for an evening of the classic tunes and entertaining stories at the intimate Flying Monkey in Plymouth, NH.

Katrina’s own backstory is emotionally threaded with turning point moments and inspiring tales of overcoming personal setbacks to blaze one’s truest path. Talented from the start, Katrina made her initial music “debut” on the popular TV show Star Search, the precursor to today’s singing competition series', and the platform that helped launch Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Usher and Justin Timberlake, among others. The young Katrina emerged victorious in multiple consecutive weeks, (including besting the young star who would become known as Aaliyah) garnering attention (and offers) from record companies and other industry tastemakers.

Katrina’s accomplished vocal style also scored her coveted SiriusXM support, including over 1000 spins on multiple contemporary music channels. The hard-working artist has toured across the US with legendary icon Meat Loaf (as well as hosting her own live treks in the U.S. and UK), opening for the veteran rocker on his 2012 Mad Mad World Tour. It’s the depth of her artistry and belief in unfettered creative inspiration that captures hearts and moves musical mountains on singer/songwriter Katrina Woolverton’s new EP ‘Better Now.’ The six-track offering showcase’s the star’s gift for musical nuance and her 5-and-a-half octave range.
