  PETER WOLF

Famed Frontman of the J. Geils Band
  Thursday, March 15 - 7:30pm

Wolf’s encyclopedic musical knowledge came in handy when he and some like-minded Boston players formed the J. Geils Band, much of whose early repertoire was drawn from Wolf’s vast record collection. The band soon became a local favorite injecting a much-needed jolt of raw, uninhibited rock ‘n’ roll into the ’70s scene and was soon signed by Jerry Wexler for Atlantic Records. Between 1970 and 1983, the J. Geils Band released 13 influential albums, topped the pop single charts with 1981’s “Freeze Frame,” “Love Stinks,” “Centerfold,” and earned a reputation as one of rock’s most exciting live acts, thanks in large part to Wolf’s flamboyant, hyperactive stage presence.   SEE MORE DETAILS...

  SQUIRREL NUT ZIPPERS

Swing, Delta blues & Gypsy jazz
  Saturday, March 31 - 7:30pm

Fans and critics alike have always had difficulty pigeonholing the bands unique sound. Some have called it a perpetually confused stew of Southern Roots and Surrealist paintings. One critic aptly tagged them as '30s punk. However, NPR’s Morning Edition might have said it best when they said: “It’s not easy to categorize the music of the Squirrel Nut Zippers, except that it’s hot.” Monkey fans may remember them as the band who was going to perform when we lost power in November 2016 and then held their own street concert!  SEE MORE DETAILS...

  HOT TUNA

Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Alumni
  Thursday, April 5 - 7:30pm

The name Hot Tuna invokes as many different moods and reactions as there are Hot Tuna fans — millions of them. To some, Hot Tuna is a reminder of some wild and happy times. To others, that name will forever be linked to their own discovery of the power and depth of American blues and roots music. To newer fans, Hot Tuna is a tight, masterful duo that is on the cutting edge of great music. Rock N Roll Hall of Fame alumni, Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady have been performing together for the past 50 years. Originating from Jefferson Airplane, the duo formed the iconic blues-roots band Hot Tuna. In an era in which volume often overtrumped musicianship, Hot Tuna provided both. We are excited to welcome them back to the intimate Flying Monkey stage.   SEE MORE DETAILS...
