"This is what happens when five guys create a magical sound, then stick together for 30 years to see how far it can take them," –Rolling Stone Magazine

Los Lobos, the multiple Grammy Award–winning American Chicano rock band had humble beginnings in  East Los Angeles. Their major hit "La Bamba" catapulted them onto the World stage in the late 80’s, but that cover barely scratches the surface of their talents. Los Lobos are eclectic in the best sense of the word. While they draw equally from rock, Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B, blues, and traditional Spanish and Mexican music, their music never sounds forced or self-conscious. Instead, all of their influences become one graceful, gritty sound. From their very first recordings, their rich musicality was apparent; on nearly every subsequent record, they have found ways to redefine and expand their sound, without ever straying from the musical traditions that form the heart and soul of the band.

Their line up has remained uninterrupted since 1984, releasing a string of classics like “How Will The Wolf Survive?,” “Shakin’ Shakin’ Shakes,” “Don’t Worry Baby,” “Reva’s House,” “Kiko and the Lavender Moon” and the number one cover of Richie Valens “La Bamba.”

Many musical groups are eclectic, but few are both as unpredictable and successful as Los Lobos. The band has notched a number one single, won three Grammys, and sold millions of records. They've shared the stage with acts as varied as Dylan, The Clash, and U2. And they've received tremendous critical acclaim—from their major label debut, How Will the Wolf Survive? (which made Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time) to 2006's The Town and The City (which drew four-star reviews in Rolling Stone, Mojo, The Independent and many others) and on to the most recent album 2010's Tin Can Trust, which features two Spanish-language tracks.  The current "Disconnected" tour is inspired by their live recording "Disconnected in NYC"...don't miss an awesome show and a rare American gem.

Los Lobos always fill the house when they come to The Flying Monkey, don't miss them when they return!

For the past ten years, Boston’s rising stars Girls Guns and Glory have been making a name for themselves through relentless touring (about 200 gigs a year worldwide), the release of multiple critically acclaimed records, a slew of local awards, including being the Boston Music Awards first act of its genre to win Act of the Year, and international awards. The band was also placed on Rolling Stone's 10 New Artists You Need To Know. This foursome brings the perfect blend of country & rock ‘n’ roll. It’s toe-tapping sorrow baby, country music’s greatest contradiction, and we hope you can’t get enough of it.
