THE BACON BROTHERS

Kevin & Michael Bacon Perform Gritty Rock
with special guests Farewell Angelina opening
  Fri
day, August 25- 7:30pm

The Bacon Brothers are anything but a typical rock band. Brothers Michael and Kevin Bacon, each accomplished in their own right, play gritty rock that is unapologetically unique and authentic. Their style can best be described by their first album title, Forosoco, a word describing the blend of folk, rock, soul and country influences.  Older brother Michael, an acclaimed musician and composer, and younger brother Kevin, an award-winning actor, combine to form The Bacon Brothers. Their childhood hometown of Philadelphia is the brothers’ muse for their eclectic blend of rock and soul. Growing up in the City of Brotherly Love, Michael and Kevin were surrounded by music from an early age.

  LOS LOBOS

American Chicano Rock & Roll
with special guests Girls Guns and Glory opening
  Saturday, September 16 - 7:30pm

Los Lobos, the multiple Grammy Award–winning American Chicano rock band had humble beginnings in  East Los Angeles. Their major hit "La Bamba" catapulted them onto the World stage in the late 80’s, but that cover barely scratches the surface of their talents. Los Lobos are eclectic in the best sense of the word. While they draw equally from rock, Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B, blues, and traditional Spanish and Mexican music, their music never sounds forced or self-conscious. Instead, all of their influences become one graceful, gritty sound. Los Lobos have filled the house each time they've come to The Flying Monkey, help us welcome their return this September.   SEE MORE DETAILS...

KELLER WILLIAMS

Guitar Virtuoso & One Man Band
  Friday, October 6- 7:30pm

Since he first appeared on the scene in the early ’90s, Keller Williams has defined the term independent artist. Keller initially built his reputation on his engaging live performances, no two are ever alike. With the use of today’s technology, Keller creates samples on the fly in front of the audience, a technique called live phrase sampling or looping, with nothing pre-recorded. The end result often leans toward a hybrid of alternative folk and groovy electronica, a genre Keller jokingly calls “acoustic dance music” or "ADM.”    SEE MORE DETAILS...
